In 1985 the Association opened its beginning group home which paved the way for Darwin Accommodation Services which was established in 1991 and today houses over 40 people. 2002 saw the official opening of the first purpose built cluster housing development for people with disabilities in the Northern Territory. The purpose of the Board of Directors is to balance the pursuit of the community service objectives with the business objectives of CPA. CPA works to continually improve services and welcomes any feedback from employees, their family members guardians, clients and customers. These national standards were first produced in 1993 and there were 12 standards. They have since been revised in 2013 to reflect current language, philosophies and service models, particularly the move towards individualized supports and personcentred service delivery. Participation and Inclusion: The service works with individuals and families, friends and carers to promote opportunities for significant participation and active inclusion in society. Individual Outcomes: Services and supports are assessed, planned, delivered and reviewed to build on individual strengths and enable individuals to reach their goals.
